A fallen angel
A broken wing
A silent tear
No voice to sing
A halo bent
All outta shape
And pouted lips
Mock her face
Her feathers scatter
On the floor
She just can’t
take it anymore
A crumpled heap
On the ground
The tears that fall
Make no sound
The sound of grief
Fills the night
A stranger steps
Into the light
He picks her up
Off the ground
holds her close
For he is for he is proud
Strips her of
Her broken wings
Has new tricks
To make her sing.
