Falling That Way

bysusansnow©

The lights on the highway call out for a show.
Pools of love drowned this spot years ago.
House smells of damp and mold. I can do
anything but the one thing I want most to do.
Even three of them do not make one of you.
My worry is not finding another. Not falling
that way again. Ribbons and baby's breath.
Card games and French braided black wings.
Stealth, skill, and treachery. Unforgiving submission.
