i thought i heard your voice
right behind me
and my heart pounded
as i scrambled to turn around
in an excited panic
wanting to see a shape
of familiarity
in a strange place
where my heart joins the surface
thinking of you is a frequent activity
with so much hope that we'd be together
...that time never comes

Oh, the rush,

the wildly beating adrenaline rush...and then the crash. In a spare, simple style you've captured those feelings wonderfully. Thank you. LJ
