If a trail of rose petals would make your journey peaceful
and softer with each step,
I'd gladly pluck them one by one,
and lay them down for you to walk upon.
If I could smile without the tears
I'd fill our time with dimples
and save the bitter taste of salt for when we've said our last good-bye.
And when the shadows fall upon your hollow eyes,
you won't be alone in the darkness,
my heart will follow,
carrying the weight of sorrows finest hour.

This new poet

continues to show great promise. Words are chosen carefully and not spilled all over the page. More constriction, I think, would be beneficial, but it's all there to be found.
