Once there was only Darkness,
total nothingness,
 void of all existence.

Then came one,
to fill the void with a breath,
sustaining the Darkness with
all that He could spare.

He wandered alone,
never taking more than He needed,
never seeking one as His own.

Until the dark eve Destiny
bestowed Her upon Him,
A raven beauty of the night,
strong and prideful.

Together they ruled the darkness
with fearful vengeance.
None dared test their strength
or loyalty to one another.

And then, Fate played her final hand.
Separating the knight from the darkness,
the stars from the sky,
the sun from the moon.

Now His anger and rage burn
brightly for all to see,
She, basking in His warmth,
lights the midnight sky.

Never again shall they roam as one.
