Fields of Heather

My love, she used to sing for me,
Each night as the clock struck twelve,
The midnight stars shone in her eyes,
And in her soul I’d dwell,

In the field with head laid back,
I’d stare at the moon in sinful thought,
My mind her memory would attack,
My body bore the scar,

Her hair was silk,
Her body curved like a river,
Her skin as fair as a mothers’ milk,
Her dark eyes forced me to shiver,

To Heather I had lost my heart,
It’s rhythm for her ears only,
Until the day she did depart,
And left my body lonely,
