We were carefree and happy
Singing along with the radio
I was giddy with joy
At what the next day held in store
You kept teasing me about it
I smiled over at you
Perfectly happy moments
Then it all changed
In one instant
The world fell apart
It's true what they say
About our life flashing before our eyes
In those moments I relived my life
I heard the blasting horn
I saw the truck heading at us
You spoke in desperate tones
Those words burn into my soul
You threw yourself across me
And the last thing I remember
Before it all went black
Was the sound of metal on metal
My heart aching as I clung to the images
Of all those I loved
I'm still getting lost
In those final moments
