Into My room he would pry
At the foot of My bed he would lie
Forcing apart My small thighs
Hand muffling My desperate cries
Taking away so much more than My life
Causing Me more than just strife
Holding on to what shred is left of Me
Searching for some fragment of dignity
Only to find a Woman sad, lost, and alone
Looking for a place I could call home
One without the hurt, the pain
One without the guilt, the shame
Searched and searched until I found
A place that makes My heart feel sound
A place I feel accepted
And not once rejected
A place with many friends
A place I hope will be My home until the end
A place I could stay until dawn
My beautiful home at Avalon.
