Finding My Love

Not knowing the way to the temple,
I wandered through several miles of
Ancient trees, amongst cloudy peaks.
Then a deserted path, deep in the mountains,
Somewhere a chime.

The sound of spring flowing over moss covered rocks.
The color of moonlight creates a pale green earth.
Now near the mountain’s top, at the corner of a quiet pool
The dragon raises, splashing water disrupts the silence,
Mist hides the view.

Then with calm meditation the dragon is subdued,
The mist subsides, across the pond the temple grows.
Thoughts delight in the moment and prepare for the next.
Embroidered curtains open, through a ray of moonlight,
I catch a glimpse.

To this place came my love, filling it with hidden fragrance.
Skin of ivory, heart of passion, always cool, always hot.
She is just awakening, eyes glazed and hair tousled, she rises.
I take her ivory hand. In all the temple doors and courtyards,
There is silence.

From time to time a shooting star makes a shadow across the moon.
Golden waves of moonlight fade, the stars of the Milky Way shine,
The west wind whispers gently through the shadowy glade.
Our love weaves a golden silence on the night. I ask how late it is:
Already midnight.

In the twinkling shadows I taste her warmth
In the shimmering moonlight her damp ebony hair
Traces long cool lines across my shoulders.
We nestle together atop our quilt of love,
Sweet anticipation,

Our naked bodies reflect the dancing shadows,
Our beating hearts drum out our song of love.
Tonight bathed in this silvery glow we will climb
To new found passions only lovers know.
Burning desire.

The patterns before my eyes repeat the ripples of the pool.
The silver moon and stars blur from the movement.
At last the dream has come to me, it is her.
I no longer am where I am now, the night stretches on.
To forever.
