It was sleeping when it envisioned the beauty
A slave to instinct, it awakened abruptly
Like a rising kite, it flew from its lair
Finally bursting into the sun’s glare
It soared above the clouds, swimming in flight
A serpent with wings and razor-sharp sight
An angelic predator searching form up high
With eyes full of lust, a fire in the sky
It moved like lightening, desperate for prey
Awakened from sleep and eager for play
She lay there bathing, lost in serenity
Under the waterfall, illuminated clearly
Immediately, it dived, like an angry whirlpool
Fixed on its victim, innocent and beautiful
She saw its shadow and felt it coming
She turned to look to see it descending
“An angel” she thought, in mesmerizing awe
And then its shriek, reverberating raw
Her body went numb, paralyzed in fear
It approached too fast, now frighteningly near
Like lightening, it landed in the water nearby
Before she could see, it swirled around her thigh
Even as she screamed, it wrapped around her
They lay face to face, prey and predator
It flared its fangs and shook its tongue
And after the shriek, a silence hung
Their eyes were locked as she lay in its grip
Even on the water, she felt her sweat drip
Something in its eyes she could not place
A terrible beauty that made her heart race
And as she gazed, wondering, “Is this my doom?”
She realized its intention- to create with her womb
