Then there was Rosie who wanted yours truly
NOT TO PULL MY ZIPPER DOWN!
stuck in the front seat of
my father's Chevy after the prom

and Susan I took to the movies
whose popcorn I had to hold onto
with both hands just as a Godzilla
stepped on a house in Tokyo
when she said she was going to college
to major in zoology.

Forget about Susan.

Did I mention Genevieve? Mon Dieu!
that cute little foreign student,
who has a certain Je ne sais quoi
and wears a little white silk blouse
that's always unbuttoned on top

who's cuter than Nancy, Rosie, or Susan
hands down, mon ami, hands down.
