Your flowers here are dying
No matter what I do
It's as if they sense rejection
Stems, like hearts, broken
In hopes to captivate you

They were bright and colorful
Full of life
Reminded me of you

But it late
And they sat here waiting
Dimming lost all bloom

My care found so lacking
Even singing with a heart
Hopeful and true

I could have snapped a photo
Showing beauty paled to you
But now it doesn't matter

They're faded
Dead
As I am to you

I wonder did I drink their color
Like bones their marrow too
I take and take whatever
At least it seems to you

In my heart I know I bought them
Fragile and fleeting
As life can be without you

And really does it matter
If I give them dying to someone new
If they still see all the colors
That I don't because of you

Of you
Of you
Of you
