Amoeba-shapes like mirrors,
slick and streaked with snow.
Trees like bristles,
little cilia,
the day's end makes them grow.

Above, we drone slowly through the sky.
Too small, too high to cast a shadow of our own.
And I am memorizing images.
Making pictures out of words.
Too full of thoughts to think about
the distance betweeen us.

saying much with so little

I could feel like I was flying over a frozen landscape with my love so far — and broken? CP

Overall I like this; I was just wondering about that first line and if it might be better as:

Amoeba-shaped mirrors. Just a thought.

Short but sweet

The simile in the first stanza seems a bit forced, but I liked the way you ended the piece.
