FLYPAPER

I am stuck, can’t you see,
Stuck and will not get free,
What’s in me, holds me fast,
Freedom is in the past.

I can fly for a bit,
‘til I’m pulled back to it,
And when it’s at the end,
I’m thrown out, rules won’t bend.

Others do try to save,
Me from a fiery grave,
The chaff, it will be burnt,
My pain, it’s all been earnt.

There’s only one outcome,
What is done shall be done.
