Footholds

bymick60a©

Been soul searching,
Trying to find my way.
My path has become blocked with a wall,
As cliffs lay on both sides of me,
Do I turn round and go back?

No that’s not why I came this way,
I come this way for a reason,
To move ahead without fear.
I look at the wall,
Seeing footholds here and there.
I find a sharp rock,
And dig in footholds,
Gaining an inch a little at a time.
Climbing the wall,
The top not as far as before,
What lies on the other side?
Not sure but I will survey once I finish my rise
