Integrity, I have searched for you
within bricks and mortar
heavy doors
prominent displays
slick, sure voices
but elusive you remained.
Through twisted stories
and goofy grins
haughty stances
and subtle sins
I referred to you
again and again
and said “this is wrong.”
Did you hear me,
inspiring sister?
Did you smile to yourself
while I stretched forward
chin on knuckle
with a sure set brow
demonstrating that I believe
you to be the leader of me?

A thoughtful piece, whether it's a metaphorical sister or an actual one. Though in making it a metaphorical sister, applying it to all women, makes for greater impact. Either way, very good.

one small suggestion; line break between these two lines:

You've posed a question to a number of prominent women in your poem. You've also asked those of us who quietly work and teach in the background to perform our duties with honesty and morality. Wonderful poem. I wonder if Hilary's listening.
