Friendship blossomed overnight
each one took her hand in flight.
Not a word of cruelness came
nothing hurt her growing flame.

Kindness showed within each face
as she found a trusting place.
A place of melted, merging hands
a place she'd call her promised land.

The tower tall and locked within
soon the woman became their friend.
Each one reaching out for her
offering their whispered words.

Warm friendly hugs and gentle kisses
made her heart learn what it misses.
But deep inside she'll keep it there
and she'll try to always share.

Words of friendship, love and peace
no longer will her heart be fleeced.
Though some days the pain will show
know that soon she'll eventually glow.

And be back to her friendly self
no longer sitting upon a shelf.
The shelf is weak and her heart is strong
it can not hold her for very long.

She pushes on it and leaps away
the friends below, catch when she sways.
Smiles of thanks show on her lips
as she touches their fingertips.

Colors of their very soul
gleamed to her like melted gold.
Lights shine down from above
as friends hold hands and hug with love.

Thanks for a lovely piece;

sometimes such a simple thing,

a warm hug so freely given,

can mean more than all else....
