I held my breathe today,
in an effort to delay
the butterflies from going away.
And while I still try to personify
the very epitome of
"playing it cool,"
I'm finding that it's easier to say,
than to do.

And you,

you...

You make me want to do backflips
over thin ice,
just to entice the sharks below,
because after all,
you are the cornerstone
of EVERY nutritious breakfast.

And although I know that it's forbidden,
you give me the urge to,
SCREAM AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS,
in the middle of the downtown library.

And every second that you're away,
makes me feel like an addict,
craving their next hit.
And I don't mean out of habit.
I'm talking out of sheer bliss.
On one wish,
and three blind prayers.

And I don't care about anyone else,
except you,
how you feel,
and what you do.
I'm ALWAYS here,
no matter what you're going through.
Even in your wildest dreams,
I got you.

And even though you've given me the green light,
you stop my heart at every intersection.
There are no questionable answers
for this riddle.
Whether it be beginning,
end,
or middle.
In comparison,
it's quite simple.
The Earth may keep my mind moving,
but you,
you are my temple.

And I've never seen you smile brighter,
than the one you show me every night,
in my dreams.
For it seems,
the world has got you down,
so I'm here to be your axis.
Giving you access
to all the love,
you've never been blessed with.

I'll keep your head spinning
and your thoughts long.
But most of all,
I'll keep your heart warm at night,
wrapped within my coat of arms,
in case my love isn't enough.
