For Now

Although you are not here, you are with me.
You are in my thoughts, my dreams, my mind.
Your presence fills the room and commands my attention
Even though you are miles away.

My heart holds the fragile bond we share.
My soul knows your fingerless touch.
My eyes see beyond the figment of my imagination.
My ears hear the voice that does not speak.

I know that when we are connecting
Time stands still and others cease to exist.
Our minds touch while our bodies do not.
This is what we have for now.

I realize you could leave in an instant
And we would never have contact again.
Such is the fragile link we share.
Gone in a moment, at either’s choosing.
