Where to begin,
The Journey will be long and hard
Sensible shoes are good,
Ones with heels and chains abounding
Making you tall,
So our eyes meet and embracing we are level.

The rule discarded,
Reams of never ending virgin paper
Covered with ideas,
Thoughts that come from mutual need
Making us whole,
Two halves searching to complete a circle.

Sharing of names,
Given or taken happily from lessons learned
In grayscale simplicity,
Describing who strides forward boldly
Wanting to unite,
To leap prejudicial thoughts without a fear.

Laying ritual claims,
Silent infrastructure carefully riveted
Under reflecting surfaces,
Monuments raised to mutual necessity
For daily purification,
Focusing forwards towards the final goal.

Whispering heady words,
Slipped unregretted from smiling lips
To underscore security,
Carefully not acknowledged but tasted
With full pleasure,
Secret feasting upon forbidden fruit.

Last minute thoughts,
Before weariness moves the conscious mind
Swiftly into dreams,
Encompassing all the promises of tomorrow
That are ensured,
Grasped tightly in nibbled fingertips.
