come, now, with me
to where the kin of men
were never meant to be

this path we take
leads from heaven's gate
and where now we walk
angels fear to tread
lest their bright divinity
end twice dead

as you take my hand
so we take this dark road
across this cursed land

a single bitter thought
our only goal:
There but for the grace of God go I
and so there for the grace I go
