Beauty is all that
people look for these
days but I wonder if there
is something more.

Men think themselves unworthy
of women because they don't look
like Greek gods. Women think themselves
inferior because they don't look like
nymphs.

People kill themselves by trying to
be something they are not. It's all
around us. The cosmetics industry. The
divorce industry. The plastic surgery business.
It's a nightmare of narcissism at its worst.

The most impressionable are the young men
and women who are forced to be what they
are not. Anorexia, steroid use, those things
are killing the young men and women of this
country.

Let's tell our friends, families and children
that they don't have to be perfect. We accept
them as they are. We love them anyway. Just
the way God made them. All of us can spare
each other some heartache that way.

A wonderful poem!

Yes, it's most certainly a poem.

Poems don't have to rhyme.

They don't have to keep the same rhythm.

Poems are merely

Condensed thought.

The whole art of poetry is

to convey your idea

in precisely as many words as needed,

...but no more.

I think it does that admirably,

and with a great message, to boot!

Thanks for the wonderful message!

Write more! :-)
