For Tony and the freedom fighters

We should think about the people
Yes the ones that keep us free
Speak about the men and women
Who've lost their lives for you and me

The ones who fought the battles
Overseas and here at home
They're all heroes for their service
Not one of them should be alone

They have protected us for centuries
Marched in lines to keep us free
Without them out there fighting for us
Our way of life would never be

Veterans come in every color
Every race and every creed
They risk their lives to stand before us
Every time that we're in need

I stop and talk to all the veterans
As I pass them by in life
They are a son and they're a daughter
Someone's husband and someone's wife

So next time you see a veteran
You should look them in the eye
Tell them you appreciate them
Without them freedom would die

Please don't take it lightly
For their sacrifice is great
Stand up and thank them for their duty
Because it never is too late
