So far away..
and yet so near.
It has become so very clear.
You care for me,
a total stranger,
In that I see
a little danger.
Danger of feeling
what you shouldn't feel..
of dreaming of things,
that can't be real.
Of putting yourself
out on a line
wishing and hoping
you could be mine.
But more then an ocean
sits in the way..
the distance between us
is more then I say.
Lives that are nothing
if no way the same
and all that you know of me
is just my first name..
Crazy, it's crazy
to leave yourself open..
to allow the possibility
of a heart to be broken!
You have your day to day
living of life..
and to complicate matters,
you have a wife!
I have no husband
shadowing me..
but that doesn't change
what can't possibly be.
We can be friends
if that's what you seek,
we'll write to each other
a few days each week.
We can trade ideas
dreams we can share..
and it's even okay
that we both care..
in each others life
we'll play a small part..
and I'll keep you fondly
forever in my heart.
