Sleek beaver nibbles on wood,
a timely plug placed in a gap and slapped
into submission with a bit of tail.
That fat tail of delicacy, you pelted little rodent.
Don't get lodged in the opening, baby,
use it to slip out into the stream.
Into water, where the waddle
turns into a graceful whirl
beneath the frost moon
reflection on the pond.

For a prairie girl,

you seem to be very well informed about our national woodland rodent. I love the playing with words... "...you pelted little rodent./ Don't get lodged in the opening, baby..."

Very clever

I'll admit I tuned in because I expected you to talk dirty, but this is a sly and fun read! And if the "fat tail of delicacy" is a reference to Beaver tail stew I am really impressed! Aho, aniin!
