Its head rotated toward
his window now,

the carrot jutting
like a crooked arrow,

the fedora
rakishly tipped,

twig arms
sporting claws,

its smile lascivious,
its red pupils

dying embers in
coal black eyes,

hungering for
the boy’s fleeing warmth.
