The sky's hot and horny
The earth sweats -
Subtle electric messages
Shimmer between them.
The wind builds.
The trees' sighs become urgent,
Gasping at each gust
Chimney pots moan softly
The air changes -
Heavy, flustered.
An invisible signal
Flickers upward from earth
And liquid silver spurts across the sky,
Thunder reverberates
The air tingles and trembles
The earth shudders.
As the great-bellied drops of rain begin
The sky sighs
Earth settles
Rinsed empty.
