A future life where breeds have merged,
Worlds collided and boundaries blurred,
To elfin realms the vampyrs came,
By monster’s roar and dragon’s flame,
No longer taking human blood, riddled with disease,
With purer blood from elves their power could increase,
Things have changed and we’re stronger now,
Species have joined, we know not how,
A new age for us has finally dawned,
Hybrid demons like me have spawned,
I’m bits of this and bits of that,
A carnivorous monster, as agile as a cat,
The stealth of a lion, the vision of a hawk,
The speed of a cheetah, a snake’s tongue, like a fork,
I am cold to the touch, yet I can breathe fire,
With beauty so intense I lead all to the pyre,
My love, a simple half-breed, vampyr and elf,
Pure breeds die out as amalgamations enhance health,
He stands, silhouetted beneath a streetlight,
With pointed ears and fangs of pure white,
Long blonde hair flowing down his back,
I can find nothing my love may lack?
His hunger for me and mine for him,
A desire so strong it aches from within.
The burning needs we feel inside,
Our way of life we have to hide,
A world unknown to mortal eyes,
Only in death do they realise,
We live in darkness, masked by shadow,
A life that mortals never know,
Disease has poisoned the entire human race,
Infection spread so fast, every person, every place,
Vampyrs cannot feed from them, their blood is too impure,
Creatures like me can eat their flesh, our bodies hold the cure,
Texture of velvet and taste so sweet,
As I consume the human’s meat,
By my side my love must wait,
To take my blood and seal his fate,
The veil at twilight becomes so thin,
A simple piercing of the skin,
The blood flows freely to mouth from vein,
And life begins all over again,
We give our blood so they may live and in return are spared,
Living in symbiosis, vampyrs and blood-cleaners paired,
A bond truly unbreakable, lasting until the end,
My partner, my guardian, my lover, my friend.
