I often shouted out my love, and called for others to see,
But its not needed any more, its just for you and me,
It’s a gently smouldering fire, it’s a leaping raging thing,
Its something only lovers know, this love of which the poets sing.

It can be whispered in the night, from my lips to your ears,
It can be carved into rock, to last all down the years,
It can be written in the sand to be washed away by the sea,
But it will never be corroded, this love between you and me.

Your passion flares and burns me, but the pain proves its there,
Shadows twisting on the wall, sighs carried on the air,
In your arms and in your heart, its the only place for me,
Content to know I love you, happy to know you love me.

Its like a mountain range, one that will never fall,
Or like a giant redwood tree, erect and standing tall,
Its like the slowly turning earth, something that cant be rushed,
Or like a diamond in the ground, something that cant be crushed.

This will go out on the net, for all the world to see,
But its still a little secret, something special to you and me,
Sometime in the future, you might stumble on these words,
And if you ever doubt my love, just open your eyes and see.

You are my cooling drink that refreshes in the heat of the sun,
You are my warming blanket when the warmth of the day has gone,
I stand tall against the world, for you are by my side,
Stay along side of me, my Gaynor and say you'll be my bride.
