A gentle power,
Strength held in check
You cradle my heart in tender hands
A loving caress

Yet beneath the softness, steel
A double edged blade
Ready to fight, protect, defend
On guard, for me and from me

Safety lies within your walls
Cherished, accepted, embraced
Stripped naked before your gaze
And yet you see only beauty

Freedom, to be myself
To explore and grow, stretch
Truly alive, held aloft on strong hands
Ready to spread timid wings and fly

Here is where I build my home
Wanting only what you desire,
To spread your happiness around me like a cloak
Yet in your praise, I find my own strength.

A deep debt, too large to repay.

Lovely poem and enjoyable rhythm

Good job!

I enjoyed the imagery and you pulled off a great rhythm.

My favourtie line is On guard, for me and from me
