I’ve had my whole life to prepare for your introduction

But no meaningful words come to mind

I’ve read every word in your letters

You sign your last name just like mine

They all fuss and fret; they tell tales of your condition

I try to imagine the sight

Never am I plagued by your absence

Your existence is up to my eyes

Ghost, haunt me no more

Since I don’t know you you’re not real at all

Send me no sorries, don’t come to my door

You’ve had so much time, two years and two score

I’ve had my whole life to become resentful and bitter

But no deep opinions come to mind

I’ve read every pride in your letters

I wish that they too could be mine

They fuss and they fret; they tale tells of how you’re a quitter

I try to envision the sight

Never am I hurt by your absence

Your duration is up to my eyes

Ghost, haunt me no more

Since I don’t know you you’re not real at all

Send me no sorries, don’t come to my door

You’ve had so much time, but now I’m gown up
