Silence came,
And became trapped
Beyond the wind.
Hurricane,
Making no sound
But for the soft
Rasp of breathing.

Silence came,
And silken webs
Closed over my eyes
Into my brain,
Fusing with receptors,
Creating electric sparks
In the darkness.

Silence left me,
And beyond the storm
I saw your cold eyes.
Hurricane,
Making no sound,
But for the breaking glass
Of a silent scream.
