I look upon her as I always have.
Like a goddess given to this world.
I feel the rapture in my heart at her smile.
And hear the symphony of her voice.
Her hair as dark as ebony, that shimmers in the light.
Her eyes glitter like embers of the dawn.
As her lips part I Drink in they're ruby glow.
And how I shiver at her touch, like a silken sheet of ivory.
I watch her from my simple place.
With the heart of a friend.
And yet I hold within my soul.
A torrent I cannot quell.
For if only for a moment I were to hold her.
And tell her of her beauty.
I would bleed a thousand rivers wide.
Or dash my soul on the rocks of hope.
She knows not why I say these things.
And fools have called it wrong.
To hold a woman in such place.
As to make the gods jealous of her.
But if only for that time she could see.
My words are truth, and binding.
That she holds a heart in her hand.
Even though I be only a mortal man.
I would give it all.
And sell my soul.
To hold her once.
To make her see.
That no matter the place nor time will change my heart.
And that she is the beauty, grace, and lady.
That has kept me from falling so far.
And that I shall always love her.
As a friend and more.
