never been good at chemistry
but i understand this ...
solutes and solvents
you're the sugar to my water
or perhaps i am yours to mine
either way, we welt
you into me
me into you
breathlessly
a solution
maybe a resolution
we've done this before
tumultuously
left with an acidic taste
tempered by immaturity
drenched in deception
less than seven
pH unbalanced
swimming towards a base
in a trail of lies
but i've never been good at history either
i can't recall
(or choose not to)
battles fought
and wars waged
forgetting the source of scars
etched jagged upon my heart
i don't (or won't)
remember the pain
of dissolution
only enough to know
it brought me down
but then again ...
directions have never been my strong suit
i rarely use the rear view
hard to drive looking backwards
but i glimpsed
simple text
and now we dissolve
i dissolve
you dissolve
my resolve
no choice but to move
forward
always forward
even as i am falling
luckily i'm good at physics
i understand equal and opposite
equilibrium
equanimity
fully grasp the concept of inertia
objects at rest
and objects in motion
nothing stopping us now
plus your torque is optimal
your mass moving
gliding seamlessly
pulled by gravity
potential energy
before it's kinetic
velocity and acceleration
how fast is too fast?
in a world of entropy
the rate of change
of momentum on a body
proportional
to the resultant force
of the body
always in the same direction
no choice but to move forward
it's dictated
fundamental laws
i comprehend
theoretically
in relativity
so do you
i am the K constant
the bridge
i just need the absolute T
unchanging heat
thermodynamics
then perhaps history can be rewritten
in a new direction and i'll get the chemisty
