Good v Evil

We see ourselves as
Good
or
Evil

We want to be Good
but we believe we are Evil

There’s a fallacy in logic here
we are not good
we are not evil
we just are

we are selfish
we are kind
we are loving
we are heartless
we are thoughtful
we are intelligent
we are self absorbed
we are giving
we are human

We are human.

The best we can do
for ourselves
for those we’ve loved
for those we’ve left
for our children
for humanity

is to be our best
on the path we chose
to love freely
to breathe deeply
to laugh profusely
to lift up those in our lives
to be committed partners to each other
in life
in love
in sickness
in health

to look only forward
head held high
as we proudly become
the good we wish to see in the world
