You’ll forever be
stuck in between
as the taste
I’ll contemplate
and treasure.

You were more than a friend
but not quite a lover
and I’ll chew on that
earnestly.

This bit of you remains
like a piece of taffy
fixed between my teeth
soft
sweet
just enough to make me smile
big.

Nice Exhibition of Verbal Skill

Yes; this was very nice. In particular, I liked the way the more verbose lines contrasted with the lines of only one word. The diction was clear, the tone was uniform; the language simple, but not plain. Excellent work.

Oh yes, this feeling I know so well. Even now, ten years since I saw her last, she still brings a soft smile to my lips and a lightness to my soul.
