When I became your lover,
it was true, I knew
you were already with another.
I tried to forget this fatal fact.
I was in denial,
willing to smile,
to act
as though I didn’t care
when I saw you, my lover,
with another.
But for the sake of my sanity
I must walk away,
and pray
that one day I will forget
I ever met
you.
