Through suburban skies
With gossamer wings
Delicately spreading dreams
Across cotton candy minds
Whose invisible to the jaded eye
Ring around the rosies
Pocketful of posies
Ashes to ashes
They all fall down
As dreams freefall inbetween daisies
That dance along tar baby streets
Where ponytailed laughs are heard
Outside cookie cutter houses
Where they catch cosmic dust
On the tips of their tiny tongues
Pattycake pattycake
Baker's man
Bake me a cake
As fast as you can
Suddenly calm steals over the playground
Their eyes turn up to the sun wiggling its nose
Magically transforming the blue sky
Into an endless black cosmic sea
That winks sparkles from above
Onto their hopscotch visions
London bridges falling down
Falling down falling down
London bridges falling down
My fair lady
Alas the moon calls final curfew
Turning their playground into a pumpkin
That can no longer bear the weight of
Giggling bodies twisting around inside jumpropes
Beneath limbs swinging freely from monkey bars
So like little birds, they fly back to their nests

I love this, your
imagery is wonderful
and it took me back to
my playground days.
Thanks for the flashback
and this lovely well written
piece of poetry.
