There are thousands of men that try to accomplish their names in history, just to be remembered. Hundreds upon hundreds try, and do not succeed.

Memories flood my mind of our times shared. Swinging under your big tree, and the rabbits in your back yard. Catching fish with corn at your other house, the Peacock’s, the Choo Choo train beside it, and bouncing on the board that crossed the pond’s drainage. Spending Thanksgiving in Atlanta, and Christmas’s with each other.

Your life will be remembered, because I was apart of it.
You are apart of me.
You’ve stood by your children, without interruption, and let them live their lives. You’ve always been there for them, and their children.
And for that, we are thankful.

I want you to know that I love you, and will always respect everything that you stood for…my one and only, Granny. It hurts me to no end to see you suffering like you do, but your place has been made. You have won.

Life is just a game. And you have won. We strive to succeed, to accomplish all that we can. Success is not money, nor is it power. It’s what you instill in others, so they can better themselves and pass it on.

You’ve made us all better, adding wisdom and compassion to our lives. You’ve walked all the roads that we will travel, and along the way, left directions to help guide us. We all will succeed because of your efforts.

I wish I could be with you, and hold you close. But I also know that you would not want it that way. The memories that I have will last forever. You will last forever, and so will our love. I’m so happy for you, and that you’ve accomplished so much in life. I will treasure you to my end, but will pass on everything about you. Everything that I’ve learned…everything that I’ve experienced.

I cannot say I love you enough. You will never know how much your life has meant to me. I can only say “Thank You”, for being who you are, and being my dearest Granny. I will hold you ever close to my heart, because you have touched my life in many ways. I love you,….always and forever.

Your oldest, and loving Grandson
