The time of confronting is upon me.
I have nowhere left to run, no fortress of solitude to rest my weariness.
To lie at the feet of the mighty and be reborn—such a lofty ideal that will never ripen.
The time of forgetting has past.
I feel the weight of being—so much heaviness and a deep, deep yellow sadness.
I don't remember the days of sun.
I only feel the hoarfrost of death upon my lips.
The time of pain and suffering ignites an even hotter breath of life in these old bones.
We were invincible once.
We were shiny and proud like the blue of the new dawn sky.
We walked upon the sun.
We had purpose and promise...and memory and legacy...
The time of my forefathers...

Oh my fathers...

Would that you could carry this broken soul and embrace me in wisdom.
Would that you could give me hope.
Would that you could...
               ...but you are dust.
You have been blown into the oblivion.
The time of fear has returned.
In truth, it was never far away.
Whispers and shadows made small by youth and fierceness have grown in the absence of love and warmth.
My tears are liquid agony.
the realization of doom

The time of confronting is upon me.
And I have already failed.
I surrender my fire and join my ancestors.

This spoke to me

I will need to revisit this to totally digest, but throughly enjoyed the first read through and know there is more for me yet to see.

A wonderful write.
