Feelings deeper than either of us knew
Hidden behind lies and false bravado grew
Like vines and weeds around my center
Constricting with each beat, making the heart tender

Love buried beneath fate and chance
Never returning for love’s second glance
I can’t believe you have loved this quick
Or that I have acted so thick

To believe you would stay
Without a declaration and just these games we play
To have discovered too late
My heart in this state
To have loved and lost you, before I knew

That in me

It was love that grew
