Grieving For A lost Relationship

It sneaks up on you without warning,
You fight it with all you got.
The harder you try, the stronger it gets,
Till your eyes fill with tears so hot.

You don't want to give in once again,
This happens way too many times.
The memories flow through your head,
Like being punished for a crime.

You grab a tissue as the dam breaks,
The tears like a river run.
The pain, the hurt, the longing,
The wishing you had a gun.

The feelings scare you shitless,
A deep breath you manage to take.
You pull yourself together,
Until the next time your heart he breaks.
