the guavas here burn
 well into the October nights
as if asking in a lover
With tempting warm savory smells
of their rich moist treasure
Lingering on the lips
one wonders at bittersweet sweetness
and imagines rushing release
of juice as it explodes softly
into an eager mouth

She asks me over after bars close
While we're waiting for night to cool
but as it only gets hotter
she removes her dress
and I am only a sheer slip away
So and so she offers me
chilled absinth and ice cream

only too aware of everything
trying to keep cool myself
finding ways to not betray my eyes
as they search to devour
Her soft curves and hard peaks
Scrimmed through cotton
Breasts bekon with fullnes
her scent heavy with promise

Every one of her words
is some other language
like how the guavas call
From my neighbor's yard
I can never know the meaning
only dream of creamy taste
just beyond the iron latice fence

So I'm not so surprised
that her ex calls
and invites himself over
we sit for hours talking
until I find a way to leave
heading home alone to enjoy
The heavy night scent of guavas
