Executed at dawn
for a crime
I didn't commit
rope tied tightly
round my scrawny neck
shivering like a leaf
no last requests
goodbye cruel world
choking for breathe
neck snaps like a twig
falling into darkness
may the Lord
have mercy on my soul.

Before thoughts!

A person preparing to participate in the fine art of hanging around has some last thoughts. Simple direct and stark in its meaning.
