Every morning she sneaks right in,
her bold regularity
                always catching me unawares,
and wearing only that tuft of hair
she nuzzles close with me in mind.

And stirred by the warmth of her liquid touch,
I succumb to promises
                of  long absent pleasure,
only to waken to the stark reality
                that comes with morning’s menu,
        offering just one more portion
                of yesterday’s dull routine.
