"harvest."

the sky is black cloth, faded and stretched tight.
the ancient fires of Nature
still exist but are masked from our faith
by Technology.

a Diety comes low -
heavy and round, creamy and golden.
she has captured the violent, nuclear, rage of The Day...
clutched it to bosom and calmed it.
She gives it to us - her halo -
soft ambience lights the path to ecstasy

my comrades - brittle and copper
scattered on cold earth, having let go Life.
a kiss of air and the fallen brethren arise
paper transubstantiates into sparrows.

and in this way - a tug from The Moon and a shove from The Wind -
i am at your threshold.
i am the most unfortunate rake
but inside your chamber will be groomed into a prince.
i am warmed on your hearth
and present to you long white ribbons
to bind our secrets together.

Dear Lady, your fields lay before me
a fragrance drifts from new mown hay.
the harvest awaits hardworking hands
and your bounty fills my mouth

...with Inspiration.
