A promise torn,
My heart still aches,
Before that night,
My life had been high as a kite.
The wail of a moan,
from the room we called our own,
had my feet turn to stone.
One step closer to the door,
my head starts feeling sore,
Thinking I married a whore.
A tangle of simmering limbs,
made my stomach swim,
as I ran for the bin.
Tears soak my jacket,
at the continued racket,
in the home I called my own.
Hop in my car,
need to get far,
from the person who was my star.
Never looked back,
not even for a chat,
only following the one way track.
Years pass and I see you one day,
we chat for a while then go our own ways.
Make it back home before I weep,
remembering the love we used to keep.
