They are tired, he and she
Weary from a worn-out world
Of take and grab and give
Where hearts are used and tossed
Like trash; stepped upon like rotting grapes
Left shattered and aching

He wants a place to lie
His heavy heart and looks to her
For comfort and rest
And perhaps for friendship and care
He pleads and she smiles
Offering him all he needs

And he gives back to her
A place of comfort and care
The normalcy that both crave
Is found here in a world they share
Far reaching but close enough
For he and she
