It is the fear of loss,
That keeps our dreams in check,
And chains us to the heavy stones of complacency.
We settle when we should not compromise,
And battle every offer when we should,
All because of the fear.
The thought of the loss,
Haunting us like a long troubled soul,
Our soul.
Simply wishing,
Our wishes, dreaming our dreams,
But remaining chained by our fear,
Until the lateness of our time has come,
And or freedom is compromised by age,
By the weight of that fear,
Made manifest by us,
For no reason,
For no purpose,
For never realizing
That to never try is the surest way to fail.
