Healing

byLeafdancer©

Grief cuts deep into the soul
And the only way for it to heal
Is to let it bleed until its clean
But even after it closes
It heals from the outside in
And even when it looks healed
Pain lurks at the core
Any careless move can stretch or strain
Tearing away at the heart
But the final healing
Happens with no notice
In the little things that change
Each step further down a new path
The scars stretch and soften
Until even a sharp reminders bring forth
Little more than a dull ache
Scars remain but life goes on
And strength can be found in pain
Even as it is in joy and beauty
